Our Story       

Desert Sage Herbs is a mother/daughter owned and run herbal retail shoppe and wellness center located in beautiful Chandler, Arizona. 

My how time flies.  Over 30 years ago when I (Vicki) was leaving the public school system and  was newly divorced and my daughter, Brittney, was a collage student at ASU, I was exploring what I wanted to do when I “grew up”; creating something that brought me JOY and I could be passionate about.  At the time I was dabbling in essential oils, taking various classes, and was having fun making essential oil blends for my family and friends.  I then stumbled across an herb store in Phoenix that was having a beginning herb class.  Well, I knew I needed to go!  After taking that class, I couldn’t ignore the message in my gut…. “I’m finally home”.

As a newly herbal enthusiast, I couldn’t stop talking about herbs and essential oils and was thrilled that Brittney was intrigued with what I was sharing.  We soon became a big fan of the herb and spices section of the old Tempe Co-Op.   Unfortunately at the time, there were not a lot of herb classes out there so I took every herb and essential oil class that the newly opened SWIHA offered.  After Brittney graduated from ASU I had this exciting, and maybe unrealistic idea, to open an herb store.  So of course I said, "hey Britt, do you want to open an herb store with me?”  And her response was “absolutely”! After opening in May of 1999, Brittney too had the bug and had to jump on the herbal bandwagon!  She then registered for the Herbal Certification Program at SWIHA!  So, the rest is history!

Next year, we are super excited to be celebrating 25 years of a mother and daughter, locally owned 25 business!  Brittney is now a registered herbalist through The American Herbalist Guild and an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping) Practitioner through EFT Universe.  For more information about Brittney or to schedule an appointment, you can go to https://www.brittneysounart.com/aboutme.  Vicki is now off exploring her new Astrology passion as a recent graduate of Debra Silverman’s Astrology School, traveling more and just exploring what’s next for her.
