Plant Walk: Superstition Mountains

  • TBD Apache Junction, AZ United States (map)

Presented by:
Jennifer Ribaudo - Clinical Herbalist & Wellness Coach

The Sonoran Desert has provided food, medicine, and shelter to the first people of this land for thousands of years. Did you know that 60% of our desert plants are medicinal?

In this exciting plant walk, you’ll learn the following:

  • Explore various medicinal and edible desert plant species

  • Learn how to identify these plants.

  • Discover the historical (ethnobotanical) and medicinal uses of plants in the Sonoran Desert.

  • Expand your knowledge of the food and medicine in your backyard

Bring your camera and a notebook! After this class, you’ll be able to impress your friends with your botanical knowledge.

Participants must be able to walk at least one mile on rocky desert terrain. The walk is easy, but if you require an assistive device please consider our walk at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve as it is on paved surfaces.

This is an outdoor event so please dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes and a water bottle are required. You will be emailed 24 hours before the event with details on where we are meeting and what to bring with you. Anyone arriving unprepared (ie. sandals, no water) will be turned away without a refund.
